Hourly rate ranges from $20.90 to $21.15 and is dependent upon qualifications and experience. Perform machine setups, line start-ups, changeovers, die cleaning, parameter adjustments, and shutdowns. Optimize film gauge, clarity, COF, and overall performance through precise process control. Monitor melt temperatures, extruder performance, air ring settings, take-off speeds, and winding quality. Diagnose and resolve extrusion issues (gels, gauge variations, die lines, web breaks, contamination, etc.). Work closely with maintenance to address mechanical or electrical problems impacting production. Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned, aligned, and maintained to minimize downtime. Verify product meets customer specifications and internal quality standards. Partner with QA to address nonconformance, implement corrections, and prevent reoccurrence. Maintain accurate documentation related to production, quality checks, and material usage. Train new/existing employees on machine operation, safety, quality, and best practices. Assist the supervisor in directing workflow and ensuring shift objectives are met. Recommend and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce scrap. Support trials for new materials, resins, tooling, and product development projects. Qualifications 3 years of experience in blown film extrusion (monolayer or multilayer). Strong technical knowledge of extrusion parameters, resins, air rings, dies, cooling systems, and winding. Ability to read and interpret production specs, resin data sheets, and quality requirements. Proven troubleshooting skills — both mechanical and process-related. Experience training or leading operators is highly preferred.
